The Choice...

Welcome to Hell

Look around.

We have hierarchy, patriarchy, misogyny, nationalism, racism, sexism, homophobia, and bigotry so normalized it has a platform, a podium, and a voting base.

We have concentration camps where people are fed maggots and children are being raped.

We have wars, starvation, genocide, and “holy” men who oversee it all while collecting the offering plate.

We have women being denied autonomy and healthcare, forced to bleed out and die with law as their executioner.

We have gluttonous billionaires hoarding wealth on their summits while those in the valleys can’t afford food, housing, or basic medical care. We’re doing so well at this we just crowned our first trillionaire. And what has that trillionaire done with all that opportunity? He built a tool that digitally removes clothing from women and children. The only thing standing between that abuse and its next victim is the trillionaire toll other abusers must pay.

This is hell. It is the epicenter of harm for pleasure and personal gain.

It isn’t somewhere else.

It isn’t another time.

It isn’t another place.

It isn’t a metaphor.

It’s here and now. Welcome to hell.

Now, if you consider yourself more benevolently inclined, this is the moment that either breaks you down or breaks you open.

Because no one is coming to save you.

But that also means no one is coming to stop you.

So what do we do?

The first step isn’t grand.

It isn’t a movement or a manifesto.

It’s looking.

That’s it.

We turn on the light.

We can’t clean what we can’t see.

We can’t disrupt what we refuse to witness.

We flip the switch from fear to bearing witness.

Just look. Allow your heart to break into so many pieces that your eyes can fully open.

Look.

Just look.

Bear witness.

Who’s going to stop us?

We’re built for this, exactly this.

Everything needed to turn darkness into light exists inside us already.

We are built to turn hell into paradise, or at the very least damn near. Not for a privileged few at the expense of others, but for all.

That’s the direction.

Either we have no bottom or our foundation is basic human decency and we build better from there.

Welcome to hell.

You’re already here. The time is now.

The only question left is what are you going to do about it?

What direction will you choose?

The bottomless pit?

Or the foundation?

Oh, the world we could build on that foundation; sovereign and together.

What will you choose?

What will we choose?
